Change – Fish Costume – Sort Of

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Change.”

This costume is based on the catfish on top of our local library. I do not claim to be someone who sews, but I put together this costume for our local dog contest, but also used it for our grandson’s costume on an impromptu visit to the zoo. Be kind friends . . .

Ephemeral – Fireworks 2

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Ephemeral.”

“To consider and appreciate now, before now evaporates and becomes then.”

2010.  Well this was almost a mistake. We did take picture of fireworks, but I suddenly thought they might not have been my photos.  Then I remembered I probably used our Nikon  film camera at the time.

I took the original post down but after confirming  when and where I am re-submitting them. Does this ever happen to anyone else, or is it rookie anxiety? Enjoy.fireworks 1

DP- Secret Santa

Secret Santa

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Secret Santa.”

You get to choose one gift — no price restrictions — for any person you want. The caveat? You have to give it anonymously. What gift would you give, and to whom?

I would have the doorbell ring at my son’s house. Standing there would be one of the fellows from a home remake show. They would go in and give them a 3 day stay at a hotel in New York City.

While they were away, the carpenters and plumbers would totally make over their bathroom. It’s not that it isn’t big enough, well, ok it’s not; it’s just that you have to squeeze by the sink to get to the toilet.  They have a small room behind the bathroom and that wall could come out to make the bathroom a great size.

Sometimes it’s not the big things that matter, it can be the little things that just make your life more pleasant.

Happy Holidays to all.

Yellow – As a forgotten holiday color.

One of the daily post suggested pictures of Yellow to show other colors during the Holiday. My choices just popped out. It just took this long to get back to posting.  Here are my two photos. The picture on the right is our a rendition of our college flame. The inside is red. The other of course is a local public library.yellowflame

Thanksgiving Day USA

To everyone whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, I wish you peace, good friends and good food. Last April my dad passed away. We always went down to Delaware for Thanksgiving to celebrate with him and his girlfriend. Yes, at 89 they had been together for 17 years, but in separate apartments. She new better than to marry him since 3 previous wives had died. (family joke) Today, I get to celebrate with our family in our home town. I am looking forward to that. Have a great day! ~Julia
