Connected to Vines – WPC

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Connected.”

When moving into a new house you prioritize what needs to be done. At my daughters house today, her dad went out in the yard to help with some over grown vines. The yard had been the least of her worries as she worked and her family grew. When I saw how big the vines were from 3 years of being unattended I grab my camera phone. Somehow it is all connected, father, daughter, vines, working together to free the holly trees.

Here is a piece of that vine.

Half and Half – WPC

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Half and Half.”

This is a creek in our neighborhood. I had focused on the pair on the left, but when I got home I notice there was another set of people on right. I thought this would be good for the Half and Half challenge. creekSame creek with 2 ducks facing away from each other.

Forces of Nature – WPC

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Forces of Nature.”

This week, share a force of nature from your corner of the world. It can be something as large as the Grand Canyon, or as small as the tiny seedling steadily breaking is way through the concrete in your driveway.

I chose this picture because not only is the Grand Canyon a true force of nature, but also the tress are growing out of the rock too.

Afloat – Weekly Challenge

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Afloat.”  How do you interpret the word afloat?

Walking by a street while watching my granddaughter ride her bike, I saw this spider web and noticed the flower petals caught in the web. I think they are almost floating in the air in the web.

The next 2 pictures I took at Encanto Park,  Phoenix, Arizona. No explanation needed for these.

Lighthouse and Giraffes – Rule of Thirds

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Rule of Thirds.”

So, I am not sure of this last picture since the Giraffe is eating the food in the center of the picture. What do you think?

These were all taken at a different time since it is currently 20 degrees in Phila. PA. Not as bad as the people in the New England States have it though.

Express Yourself photo challenge

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Express Yourself.”

I had a hard time with this, mostly because I would want to show my children’s family. They are not up for the grandchildren being on the blog yet. Next would be my dogs, but I wanted to do something different. So here is a picture of me on a cruise to the Bahamas. The Atlantis aquarium is somewhere I would suggest you see if ever there. This picture popped out for me because I love the shirt I’m wearing. The colors, the theme, and the relaxation of the cruise all combined to express myself.  Of course I did not take this picture. I left that up to my husband.

Serenity

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Serenity.”

This week, show us your interpretation of serenity.

OrchidI had a few pictures in mind but settled on this Orchid. I took it on the way home from a wonderful cruise to  Alaska. It was so enjoyable just sitting by the windows and having tea and dessert.
